NLF Beliefs


	THE BIBLE The Bible, consisting of sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is the Word of God given by divine inspiration and is inerrant in the original manuscripts. The Bible remains the unchanging authority in matters of Christian faith and practice. GOD One God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. JESUS CHRIST Begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man.
	THE HOLY SPIRIT God, dwelling in the believer, sanctifying and guiding him in Truth, endowing him with gifts as He determines and enabling him to glorify God. SALVATION Salvation is by grace through faith in God. The Scriptures teach that believers may have the assurance of being saved. Believers in Jesus Christ can know beyond any doubt that their sins are forgiven and they are children of God. Assurance of salvation does not negate personal responsibility. A growing disciple never asks how much sin God tolerates, but instead, how close he can live to the Lord. MAN Man, because of sin, is separated from God and in need of salvation, which comes only through Jesus Christ! THE RETURN OF CHRIST Heaven is a place prepared for all persons who are in Christ. Hell is for those who die in unbelief. We believe in the return of Christ, the Millennium, the Judgments and the Eternal State. THE CHURCH Commissioned to evangelize the world by proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord and by living as His servants among men. BAPTISM All believers have been commanded to follow the Lord in water baptism, which is the outward sign of an inward work. We practice only baptism by immersion.
